bit (she takes after my mom and manages to find every virus in the
world and gets it on her computer), I was able to sit down and generate a
number for a winner! I used random.org for a random number from
1-20(the number of blog comments). And I got ........13!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And that makes the winner..... Aid Castillo Misigoy!! Congratulations! And thank you to all you participated. I am hoping to do another give-a-way after the holidays. </div>

The first was a beautiful Christmas dress made with a brand new pattern called the Lauren. I love this new pattern! It has so many possibilities...puffy sleeves, no sleeves, long sleeves, 3 different necklines, 2 types of aprons...It is awesome! The Christmas dress I actually made for my daughter for our upcoming trip this December, but offered to do a custom made one. <br />
<br />
The Christmas tree is hand appliqued with several machine appliqued mickey ornaments and some mickey button ornaments! The bodice is the new Lauren, but the skirt is actually the Grace by the same pattern designer. <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The back of the bodice has several rows of elastic for a better fit. I added length for a bigger bow, because I love long tails! Two rows of ruffles on the back and a large bottom ruffle. </div>

<br />
The second dress I auctioned off was an Aristocats dress. I found the perfect fabric for the dress and had to go with the Lauren pattern again. This time I used only the Lauren for the whole dress. The skirt has an apron with an applique of Marie on it. The bodice has the Aristocats logo on it.<br />

My daughter has a new crush this month and it is Luigi from Super Mario. For her 9th birthday she wanted a Super Mario theme and she helped design this dress for her party. I think she will get plenty of use out of it!<br />

This summer I decided to try out a design on a tech shirt. I am running the Princess Half Marathon in February at WDW and wanted a shirt to show I was training for it. I found a design someone posted on facebook and had a great friend digitized it for me and VOILA! Instant cute training shirt! I decided to do my first one on the back so when people are passing me (yes, slow runner here), they can read it!<br />

Well, after posting a pic for my shirt on a running page on facebook, I got a ton of requests to make them! I have made at least 25 of them so far and am still going strong! I have also made them on different colors as the local supply of pink shirts slowly got depleted! Here it is on black! I like this one!<br />

In between all the craziness I made myself a bag! I found this pattern on the internet here <a href="http://erinerickson.com/store/patterns/two-zip-hipster-pdf-pattern/" target="_blank">Great Bag Pattern</a>. It has 2 zippers but were really easy to do (and I hate zippers!) I am planning on making a Disney version and a special version for DD.<br />

In August I went to NC to meet a bunch of friends that sew. Some I had never met IRL before but have known for years through the Disboards and facebook. I had a fantastic time! During the meet we exchanged AG doll outfits. This is the one I made for the swap! It is a doll version of the Feliz, but much easier and less time consuming! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Also in August I participated in a launch on facebook. I made 2 outfits for the launch. This first one I actually sold 3 of! It is one of my favorite dresses so far. There are 6 princesses on the dress and each princess has her fabric displayed before her! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My other launch outfit is this great Star Wars set! It is a swing top that is closed in the back, and a patchwork twirl skirt! This one didn't sell yet and is still for sale! <br />

I wanted to make something I have never made before. A few months ago, I scored some great Haunted Mansion fabric on a destash board. I had been hoarding it trying to decide what to do with it. Well, I finally decided to try a strip work dress using some great designs by Froufroubyheathersue! She has some of the best designs! </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had some Rapunzel fabric left over from our Disney trip and I found this cute purple fabric that reminded me of the lanterns from the movie. So I threw together this cute insa skirt with an appliqued top. I love those princess cameos!</div>

Another great fabric find! I found this on clearance and have been hoarding it since. It is the prettiest princess fabric I have ever seen! I love the flowers all over it! This is the precious dress and had great puffy sleeves and a bow on the back! It is a size 4 (it is a little short on my 8 year old.)</div>

Currently I am working on another Haunted Mansion set, then I am off to work on a new Star Wars set! I love the new Star Wars fabric that Joanns is now carrying. I bought almost a whole bolt of it!</div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-55774471940163649702012-04-28T19:56:00.003-07:002012-04-28T19:56:43.259-07:00New Outfits!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We recently took a trip to Disney and of course my princess needed some new customs too! Even though she is 8, she still loves all things frilly and girly! I love that I can sew for my little one still! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First, we had to repurpose a dress I made years ago. It became too small, so 2 years ago I redid the bodice to a larger size. This year, I decided to just make the bottom of the dress into a skirt and add a top. I think this skirt still has plenty of life left in it! It has over 100 squares of fabric and 26 of the squares have embroidered characters on it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnEjJXoFq3IYnBTAACDKiIU4FYLkXbytegtNQh8NGwugPYbCGRjrhysrwqcbuN77ItFI5XwxtY1WW_0t2cg3yimHMCpSeG9pj5hUwkvJieuLTsj_LB_GywiNv2l9fg6xLejARxiEDG3C8/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnEjJXoFq3IYnBTAACDKiIU4FYLkXbytegtNQh8NGwugPYbCGRjrhysrwqcbuN77ItFI5XwxtY1WW_0t2cg3yimHMCpSeG9pj5hUwkvJieuLTsj_LB_GywiNv2l9fg6xLejARxiEDG3C8/s400/DSCF0001.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next up we needed something with lots of ruffles, the color blue and Cinderella! I love the Feliz, even though it takes a ton of fabric and time to complete. My princess decided to go with Minnie as Cinderella and Mickey as the prince. I love this Sisboom fabric and had to use it with the dress! She got sooo many compliments on this dress at the parks. And she even managed to keep the front clean!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Check out all those ruffles! 8 rows of ruffles! 2 different Sisboom fabrics! And a lot of work!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, you may know that Phineas and Ferb are appearing at Hollywood Studios now. WEll, we are big fans of the show! We watch it together! You can even catch me and dh watching it when the kids are in bed! So, I had to make a Phin and Ferb outfit and I found another great Sisboom fabric online that I loved! This is an insa skirt and it features 6 of the characters from the show. (Doof and Candace are not pictured here)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Rapunzel is now my dd's second favorite princess so we needed another princess dress. This dress features Rapunzel, Pascal, Flynn, Maximus and the tower! And we love how Pascal is in his special dress from the opening song! Rapunzel LOVED this dress at the park! </div>

We love Epcot and I found these cute children from around the world appliques. Added some Micheal Miller fabric and it was perfect! We had complete strangers come up to us in the park and take pictures! It was a little odd!</div>

It never seemed to get any smaller.. I think next year I will start my Christmas to-do list a few months earlier! Some last minute gifts include this bag set for my sister in law. This is another Rosetta bag. I love this pattern. It goes together so easily! I also make her a matching tissue case and a cell phone case.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gWD7ZgXhLhM/TvpYP5WZPDI/AAAAAAAAAQM/pVY2pZGoiTQ/s1600/DSCF0019.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gWD7ZgXhLhM/TvpYP5WZPDI/AAAAAAAAAQM/pVY2pZGoiTQ/s320/DSCF0019.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
My daughter bought some towels for her grandma (my mother-in-law) and I told her I would monogram them for her. We found this awesome font that matches her bathroom and I did the towels in her first initial. She loved them! I can't wait till our next visit to see them hanging up.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X8Biehq-3OQ/TvpYSjYgxxI/AAAAAAAAAQU/sSCKfO6FmIs/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-X8Biehq-3OQ/TvpYSjYgxxI/AAAAAAAAAQU/sSCKfO6FmIs/s320/DSCF0001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

After I made the girls their pjs, I decided I needed a pair! I have worn these every night since Christmas eve! They are my favorite pj's now!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UDHh6qZzctE/TvpYY8qT13I/AAAAAAAAAQk/1NfiMe0Tfhk/s1600/DSCF0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UDHh6qZzctE/TvpYY8qT13I/AAAAAAAAAQk/1NfiMe0Tfhk/s320/DSCF0006.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Finally, dd really wanted some new clothes for her AG dolls. I refuse to pay the outlandish prices for them that AG wants, so I whipped these up on Dec. 22! Nothing like cutting it close! Matching pjs for Kirsten.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zSXdIS4diWY/TvpYdLZaBGI/AAAAAAAAAQs/sXb9hfcKYDU/s1600/DSCF0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zSXdIS4diWY/TvpYdLZaBGI/AAAAAAAAAQs/sXb9hfcKYDU/s320/DSCF0007.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />

She has one for herself that her grandmother made her when she was a baby and wanted ones made for her dd and dh. She wanted the same style, but different fabrics. I whipped these up one evening and I may have to remake ones for my family! I did quilt them first and then embroidered the names.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Z7ULTJ2QoFAkTAN1bOl2HnOBbJv_HIeoueHuMUbFwJtzWa6gpAiFB-3n5TMVH-TB1_MbvKq0KcPD6rcE6k364iqgrnwt3aWxQFFYNNNusvbVbgyVw2gUD9vPgoUYlLD653ijq-RcO2I/s1600/DSCF0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Z7ULTJ2QoFAkTAN1bOl2HnOBbJv_HIeoueHuMUbFwJtzWa6gpAiFB-3n5TMVH-TB1_MbvKq0KcPD6rcE6k364iqgrnwt3aWxQFFYNNNusvbVbgyVw2gUD9vPgoUYlLD653ijq-RcO2I/s320/DSCF0006.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>As I was playing on the computer last week I came to the conclusion that I wanted to make some simple gifts for the other teachers I work with. I needed some that I could whip up quickly! I posted my dilemma to my friends and took the first response....pocket tissue holders! So, I embroidered initials on some scaps and made these for the other 3 teachers and the director. I may have to make some for family now! And I will be offering them in my etsy store starting mid-February! <br />
<br />
The other strange looking item is really neat! It is a cell-phone charging station! You plug your cell phone charger into the wall through the hole and it will hang there. Then you put the phone in the pocket! Keeps your phone off the counters and floors! Great for traveling or for people like me who plug their phone in the kitchen where the counters are always a mess! I made these for my assistant and the other assistant who is also a close friend!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgktZr1Oo4WmYgSQfdFgb_OeVVOvj66ttH42I4EBCxe4fzt0Rivre_zpUtlA6omHd3bKJy8WWcwHkwzfgtdDAO_7ZE4n9QfHRbsTHaCj2qzTXbOElpVPuuSD-vbts6D2SRrpHWbeM_CAl4/s1600/DSCF0009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgktZr1Oo4WmYgSQfdFgb_OeVVOvj66ttH42I4EBCxe4fzt0Rivre_zpUtlA6omHd3bKJy8WWcwHkwzfgtdDAO_7ZE4n9QfHRbsTHaCj2qzTXbOElpVPuuSD-vbts6D2SRrpHWbeM_CAl4/s320/DSCF0009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
Another cell phone charger station. I will also be offering these in my etsy store starting mid-February!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpLIZ8AZAdYiS_nfmZQR6MJNzVhjMLSkOS1j0Xw3oMhCo4oCi4dSpdGOMJbydlYkbReHsGl8NQG9xCO3wSFaPKfHnertzBWMzE67iLFZfwymV2TOfb0MgrVUelA7k4JAqIt0EL-aS1Edw/s1600/DSCF0010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpLIZ8AZAdYiS_nfmZQR6MJNzVhjMLSkOS1j0Xw3oMhCo4oCi4dSpdGOMJbydlYkbReHsGl8NQG9xCO3wSFaPKfHnertzBWMzE67iLFZfwymV2TOfb0MgrVUelA7k4JAqIt0EL-aS1Edw/s320/DSCF0010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
My next project were these cute camera/cell phone cases! I love how they sew up and they are the perfect size. I made these for my assistant and my friend. My friend was able to fit her smaller cell phone and camera in the bag at the same time! I can fit my android in it nicely too! Look for these in my Etsy store soon!<br />

I LOVE Christmas. The decorations, the presents, the food, and just being with family during such a wonderful and blessed time of the year. So, when my assistant commented to me that she didn't have a Christmas shirt I knew I had to make her one! This came out so cute!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNFwNKBr3aD8y1zs8RQm9pvrZZCIFIDOsZcTaxcBhdpplsJsyuuHs14UxlJ_oZ-5BiKzI3C9-cKxmwJWaNtsADr54Jk1PeRIDTTtoMbFvJNoKoqud3krPD7Ex7LriaLrG3KCvcTuDYrBE/s1600/DSCF0013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNFwNKBr3aD8y1zs8RQm9pvrZZCIFIDOsZcTaxcBhdpplsJsyuuHs14UxlJ_oZ-5BiKzI3C9-cKxmwJWaNtsADr54Jk1PeRIDTTtoMbFvJNoKoqud3krPD7Ex7LriaLrG3KCvcTuDYrBE/s320/DSCF0013.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Finally I have some gifts for some very special little ones. Last year I had the pleasure of teaching the cutest twin boys that I have come to love. Their family is very sweet and I feel I became close with them. They are moving back north and I was saddened to know I won't see them anymore. Mom had to drive up by herself with 2 four year old boys, an 8 year old girl and a dog! So, I made this cute colored pencil tote for the girl ( the boys each got one at the end of the preschool year last year.)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsPmPlQAR3xsI_bTeCkwq76XrTf-dFs01gT1XlubcT-38_v3wfHN4zXlI0jRnlLahhnHl7k4oQ5ng_f0HBdMGB7E8NWkF_FIEMUJ4gpBi_x2OeADXpJpTz0gEBLKesqc6s-T_md26LH4c/s1600/DSCF0014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsPmPlQAR3xsI_bTeCkwq76XrTf-dFs01gT1XlubcT-38_v3wfHN4zXlI0jRnlLahhnHl7k4oQ5ng_f0HBdMGB7E8NWkF_FIEMUJ4gpBi_x2OeADXpJpTz0gEBLKesqc6s-T_md26LH4c/s320/DSCF0014.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I also made these great I-SPy bags. Inside the bag is a bunch of little items like buttons, coins, etc. There is also a card attached to the handle(not pictured) to show what they need to find. I made 2 for them to share and hopefully it will give mom a little peace on the long trek back home! I also plan on offering these in my etsy store come springtime!<br />

Still have much to do before Christmas gets here, but I took today off to relax and will get busy tomorrow! Here are a few things I have worked on this past month.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A Disney Christmas Dress. This is a new pattern that a friend designed! It is called the Grace ruffle dress and I LOVE it! You can get the pattern here: http://youcanmakethis.com/products/featured-products/grace-ruffle-dress.htm It has so many options to it! This was my first attempt at it. I made this to sell, but dd fell in love with it. It is a little small on her, but because it has elastic in the back, and lots of ties it still worked. It will make a great resell next year!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZfl-xnotmfGE9ye3VnHC0O25rPrTj-MyseMEh5-2v8tZO7je29V31k-j1jlGcGxQQeGdpkRO5-WqPv2gg4fhHmKJsojHXuCMDnMjefW8AcZXBBI3hq3rQCcT1u7EoyvgRLyi2tUkzyF0/s1600/DSCF0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZfl-xnotmfGE9ye3VnHC0O25rPrTj-MyseMEh5-2v8tZO7je29V31k-j1jlGcGxQQeGdpkRO5-WqPv2gg4fhHmKJsojHXuCMDnMjefW8AcZXBBI3hq3rQCcT1u7EoyvgRLyi2tUkzyF0/s320/DSCF0002.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip54cCtqptdW04or7RNEGCfT3tudJPQUB85mP1AZCOqs94sBJ_BQNP0f_XrG0gnQY7BDNPEeVy5BDQgHXQmqmCRtbPp9yVDRAJQAW-iCh22pbRn6AnOO-LbDjuEJYQc8wks6yV6pBuq8o/s1600/DSCF0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEip54cCtqptdW04or7RNEGCfT3tudJPQUB85mP1AZCOqs94sBJ_BQNP0f_XrG0gnQY7BDNPEeVy5BDQgHXQmqmCRtbPp9yVDRAJQAW-iCh22pbRn6AnOO-LbDjuEJYQc8wks6yV6pBuq8o/s320/DSCF0003.JPG" width="240" /></a></div> DD loves blue! So I made her this cute top to go with a snowflake skirt I made her. I still have another top I want to make her to also go with the skirt, but time is moving too fast!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDpaiA4tndCJXmWlcUTu43NY66f02z4d8UuFMAnTP1IgUCyy1x2LYScocEIpTmRjVfT8h1HNK9P-nISiULRwAJnzO70SKZL9CQKznlK74xAxLK6wkHdEdKIHD_aS71qeo3pStvtJs8HnM/s1600/DSCF0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDpaiA4tndCJXmWlcUTu43NY66f02z4d8UuFMAnTP1IgUCyy1x2LYScocEIpTmRjVfT8h1HNK9P-nISiULRwAJnzO70SKZL9CQKznlK74xAxLK6wkHdEdKIHD_aS71qeo3pStvtJs8HnM/s320/DSCF0007.JPG" width="240" /></a></div> My second Grace Ruffle Dress. I made this for a little girl whose brother is taking his family on his Make a Wish trip to Disney. It is a size 18 months and I had so much fun making such a tiny size! <br />

Made these pants years ago and finally got around to making the top! Of course, the bottoms don't fit dd now!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI3cHX4sjkRTJxyxoPtY-7gEu_jQitHLvlyfgVylRVvsU0ZsUMNVlNS5ykJJHop-AOjK_jN1w_NsnQfLg9l_CKeXSztRM1qJMzK58RAIMKNQDJUXcsIhl0gTPUy4931SkJKtCdU47qR6Q/s1600/DSCF0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI3cHX4sjkRTJxyxoPtY-7gEu_jQitHLvlyfgVylRVvsU0ZsUMNVlNS5ykJJHop-AOjK_jN1w_NsnQfLg9l_CKeXSztRM1qJMzK58RAIMKNQDJUXcsIhl0gTPUy4931SkJKtCdU47qR6Q/s320/DSCF0002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Another cute pant set. DD wore this to Disneyland in 2010, but the pants had cut out letters glued on. I picked them off and added this LM cutie. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCZfAZfq_OudYTvEl6ewOq-61hij5HLPike9ytjSw_PAP6x8zXf6sPme5cbjtcSFZczoJ6vGUsWM3KFxu3QUq7sTJfa6DO1O-xpR59IPgcQhbg9CGW0m4jQN-NqyXoIi_IhvImj-vL-3Y/s1600/DSCF0009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCZfAZfq_OudYTvEl6ewOq-61hij5HLPike9ytjSw_PAP6x8zXf6sPme5cbjtcSFZczoJ6vGUsWM3KFxu3QUq7sTJfa6DO1O-xpR59IPgcQhbg9CGW0m4jQN-NqyXoIi_IhvImj-vL-3Y/s320/DSCF0009.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> A set of pjs for a customer (and dear friend). Made a whole set of matching pjs her mommy, daddy and little one. She is a disney fanatic like me, as is her dh, so I know they will love these!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih64U1WB-c3DZ3B1olPky0gIwrM4iTMG5opz9TlRoZ5yqHpkjoDWuiQLVA1-IEcm3msPvDKDzKSIS5zmBPPFKiudL193Iwyul_1Ui1WpCHHTyrUJtvgbUlVAUYnJzEMO6bppvRo7qoMUk/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih64U1WB-c3DZ3B1olPky0gIwrM4iTMG5opz9TlRoZ5yqHpkjoDWuiQLVA1-IEcm3msPvDKDzKSIS5zmBPPFKiudL193Iwyul_1Ui1WpCHHTyrUJtvgbUlVAUYnJzEMO6bppvRo7qoMUk/s320/DSCF0001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Another customer project. Clothes to fit a 12 inch doll. Easy fit pants are my favorite to whip up as they take no time at all! Also a Preppy skirt and a simply sweet dress.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzjmd8VDwPc0t6XqfXJkps05hLRMqFkiIxE7fIM5J8c4_GyWi7Bk3BzGjUFinyGZIk2S0ETtvopCotlDXOcC9pqDGDdCrfEOUY7gamar3jtjmFJQGB58QcQy9ojpp3LGQWrY9wD7SGrEw/s1600/DSCF0012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzjmd8VDwPc0t6XqfXJkps05hLRMqFkiIxE7fIM5J8c4_GyWi7Bk3BzGjUFinyGZIk2S0ETtvopCotlDXOcC9pqDGDdCrfEOUY7gamar3jtjmFJQGB58QcQy9ojpp3LGQWrY9wD7SGrEw/s320/DSCF0012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Hello Kitty skirt for my older dd. She didn't want me to take a pic of her as she was ready for bed! But I love how the skirt came out.<br />

Hoping to get our family picture done this weekend in these. I wonder if I can convince them all to wear these on Christmas Eve at my In-laws? Maybe one year we will be at Disney for Christmas and we can wear these!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYeROzQXFGmuFTYxC9g27aHJcsf1SMA18GX3cPmog7sw6wMFWew9k2mrb0nSbd6sSG-RBCyaTa-m2ArkqTDXi29S_Q82s0aMhApJwUx6lQZU7yVLbuBv6cOGmISERu2BUThhdo78EGAug/s1600/DSCF0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYeROzQXFGmuFTYxC9g27aHJcsf1SMA18GX3cPmog7sw6wMFWew9k2mrb0nSbd6sSG-RBCyaTa-m2ArkqTDXi29S_Q82s0aMhApJwUx6lQZU7yVLbuBv6cOGmISERu2BUThhdo78EGAug/s320/DSCF0003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Pajamas for the girls. EVery year they get new pjs on Christmas eve. Usually they match, but as one is almost 17, I figured I would make them similar with their own personal preferences. So, dd8 got monkeys, and dd 17(almost) got owls!<br />

I have even launched my Facebook page for selling! I am hoping to have a give away once I reach 100 likes! So, come on over and like me!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My daughter recently turned 8 and for her birthday she went to American Girl store. So, I had to make her a dress, and matching ones for her dolls! Here are the ones that Kirsten and Natalie wore! Too see the one I made for Sara Beth, head over to Facebook!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

This cute set can be made custom for your little princess! The shirt is $20 and the skirt is $20, but if you want the set it is $35!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">With Christmas fast approaching, I have begun working on Christmas dresses! I just love this one! The blue Disney Christmas material is so pretty, and the applique matches the fabric! I made 2 I plan on selling and one that will be donated to a little girls Make-A-Wish trip to Disney. She loves pink and zebra so I think it will be perfect!<br />
<br />
My first bag is Very Hungry Caterpillar. I love this bag. It is a smaller size as I didn't have much material left after making a dress! <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie9I-8X3Z8rG-yDbnhxQR5OtqUDlXuxxwdnTIYRTKVIaDKCF81mS-om-Zd6FEFLmPDy_tG6Jir1OkOgUNW1LCQpNgcBl511uFqURrOn-JzPlv6IJbutLgn7jlB5F2XZZg4MbDYjakBt6A/s1600/DSCF0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEie9I-8X3Z8rG-yDbnhxQR5OtqUDlXuxxwdnTIYRTKVIaDKCF81mS-om-Zd6FEFLmPDy_tG6Jir1OkOgUNW1LCQpNgcBl511uFqURrOn-JzPlv6IJbutLgn7jlB5F2XZZg4MbDYjakBt6A/s320/DSCF0008.JPG" width="210" /></a></div><br />

</div>Here is the bag I made for a little girl. It is the medium size bag. She loves pink and zebra! And it has plenty of pockets all around the inside. She loves to draw so I made two thin pockets to hold pencils or pens!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXnfMRYU8ib0EXWwN_EuFvLWCWbbMM6e95ksWf4ASxSr8WVt8XyCd_ib_YIVCKNgJAQCbPrJ-MSLMOVvqvDIkoXEqGFJ7kEjHyNt2sGPjH9nY8RN6uoM3JaTTT4_lN8Taw2_D7Ps-UtSw/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXnfMRYU8ib0EXWwN_EuFvLWCWbbMM6e95ksWf4ASxSr8WVt8XyCd_ib_YIVCKNgJAQCbPrJ-MSLMOVvqvDIkoXEqGFJ7kEjHyNt2sGPjH9nY8RN6uoM3JaTTT4_lN8Taw2_D7Ps-UtSw/s320/DSCF0001.JPG" width="249" /></a></div><br />

The last bag for now. I need to add a fabric flower to the front. I don't love the green in it so I think the flower will help. It only has one set of packets on the inside. I plan to place this one and the caterpillar one on etsy soon. Just trying to get a few more done before I list them.<br />

I have lots of other sewing projects going on, but I can't share until the recipients receive them this coming weekend! So, stay tuned to lots of cute items!Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-13036238474313118332011-07-28T18:01:00.001-07:002011-07-28T18:01:20.610-07:00A Girls Gotta have Bags!This past few weeks I have been working on various projects. Many involving some type of bag or organizer. I love bags and have a few I made but none of them had pockets. This drove me nuts when my phone would ring, or when I tried to find my keys in the parking lot! So, after much debating I finally purchased the Rosetta bag pattern by CarlaC and sisboom on www.youcanmakethis.com. It comes in three sizes. I made the middle one which is the perfect size for a pocketbook! Can I say I am in love! <br />
<br />
I found some great clearance fabric at Walmart to test it out. That way if I didn't love it I wasn't out much. WEll, I love it! And have been using it ever since! Here it is !<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaaukugK7bHlmJuCbPT3fhCJ1q1Xvw26I6uc-_eabeXUYIUx8jYmWCZO8zzmxkfpS2LjlPKbXQcbEE67WSXy6VE_pA0334HYnvEL0GdFc7aqOENfKXTbQEH9VxDj_2Vapa25KN1o4k1Bc/s1600/DSCF0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaaukugK7bHlmJuCbPT3fhCJ1q1Xvw26I6uc-_eabeXUYIUx8jYmWCZO8zzmxkfpS2LjlPKbXQcbEE67WSXy6VE_pA0334HYnvEL0GdFc7aqOENfKXTbQEH9VxDj_2Vapa25KN1o4k1Bc/s320/DSCF0003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div> I added a bunch of pockets! One side has 3 pretty big pockets, the other side has 4 smaller ones. Plenty of room for phone, keys, small tape measurement, pens, etc!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-GMv2PDGMHToQ8kexd_BHMthETLVyNyEkELY-vKwBMXvmCWy2xfJdPvD9Vl0M1Z1rZImkBYaQKtCMcNlOkMaLpjoAkGf-zUfrVbzkHFU3f8AUl0IRMo4xCnhjtjRYG9b2_RPanTJDNqw/s1600/DSCF0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-GMv2PDGMHToQ8kexd_BHMthETLVyNyEkELY-vKwBMXvmCWy2xfJdPvD9Vl0M1Z1rZImkBYaQKtCMcNlOkMaLpjoAkGf-zUfrVbzkHFU3f8AUl0IRMo4xCnhjtjRYG9b2_RPanTJDNqw/s320/DSCF0005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I felt like it was missing something. I found this cute flower at Walmart and I think it added just what I needed!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw-4ZWORvC3wS13ohrIzBi-O9l3BhWYkUvegPuoN7rgXiG5GYEFXXI8URigtOKw39iB13EQOblhUNupkUIiAuNguUqfkDiYO1_1dbcj5ZuctHpjgrNRKkL-M8wPGLImscKqiRF_X4jwvQ/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw-4ZWORvC3wS13ohrIzBi-O9l3BhWYkUvegPuoN7rgXiG5GYEFXXI8URigtOKw39iB13EQOblhUNupkUIiAuNguUqfkDiYO1_1dbcj5ZuctHpjgrNRKkL-M8wPGLImscKqiRF_X4jwvQ/s320/DSCF0001.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
Another project I worked on this month was a coupon organizer! This was designed by a friend of mine who is a great seamstress! The pattern is found here: <a href="http://www.lcmrschooldistrict.com/sewingstoryprojectsandcoolthings/index.php">Coupon Organizer</a><br />
<br />
So, being the disney woman I am, I had to use some Tink material! It even has a way to attach it to the buggy at the store!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3aII2CqENpDZC3W3vX28NuK3NnqK3m5HIQvCheiWpjWGrQ83OqImLI7AdXnYBaT-w4ZoY6sWH0SIOrRytYXYPyac3bCWFcmxpfoFrhJkr9RrzIO1_yUA5va4X5tPk7X7m1NKY1NQCGh8/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3aII2CqENpDZC3W3vX28NuK3NnqK3m5HIQvCheiWpjWGrQ83OqImLI7AdXnYBaT-w4ZoY6sWH0SIOrRytYXYPyac3bCWFcmxpfoFrhJkr9RrzIO1_yUA5va4X5tPk7X7m1NKY1NQCGh8/s320/DSCF0001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> The inside! It was my first go at it and I messed up a little on the tabs. Next time I am going to use manilla folders and cut them in half. I saw a friend do that on his and I really liked the way it turned out!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiszbfi9XVjqtDK-clgrsSS2H6GA6qPHmuAnIbG4Lr1UIgsjGtT0ajOnfapd8M5z6_fxhsZMfcThweEkhHTTzmLp34kdxeWdC3cldFT6YZO4IUOEO7XXG7LftG46HbU8pb-YTAfCjidv_g/s1600/DSCF0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiszbfi9XVjqtDK-clgrsSS2H6GA6qPHmuAnIbG4Lr1UIgsjGtT0ajOnfapd8M5z6_fxhsZMfcThweEkhHTTzmLp34kdxeWdC3cldFT6YZO4IUOEO7XXG7LftG46HbU8pb-YTAfCjidv_g/s320/DSCF0002.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-41493044105370490532011-07-26T19:07:00.000-07:002011-07-26T19:08:03.734-07:00Very Hungry Caterpillar!<div style="text-align: center;">I know I updated once today, but I am playing catch-up here and want to be prepared to add the new items I am working on as I finish them! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I bought some Very Hungry Caterpillar material a few years back to make Sara Beth a dress. I had plenty of ideas, but no concrete plans on how or when I was going to use it. I was so excited to have it, I didn't want to mess up with it! In April, I used some of it to make a flannel board set for my class..they loved it! But now, I had used the only large butterfly, caterpillar and leaf I had! Oh well! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5SLsPTBqN5mzc4kwFqfgjFIReKtxnrZ_1fdEe77R5sMn3O3-ufsXPpbR31TrHbSL34LCw1RQ7icHZL8JHwCmtlYyK2MLSTLORbSAVgJDO6RXbqmIOJkDwMgNaHlKOYq5iBpJkjdAhZEk/s1600/DSCF0001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5SLsPTBqN5mzc4kwFqfgjFIReKtxnrZ_1fdEe77R5sMn3O3-ufsXPpbR31TrHbSL34LCw1RQ7icHZL8JHwCmtlYyK2MLSTLORbSAVgJDO6RXbqmIOJkDwMgNaHlKOYq5iBpJkjdAhZEk/s400/DSCF0001.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">So, after using up some of the material I finally had the need to make a dress. The pattern is a frankenpattern....in other words, it is a mixture of different patterns. The base of it is CarlaC simply sweet..I love the pattern. I used a simplicity pattern for the apron and knot straps. I then used my own ideas of making the strip on the bottom. All in all, I just love it! So much so, I don't want Sara Beth wearing it too much and getting it dirty! I do plan on selling it next year as a gently worn dress. It would be perfect for a 5 or 6 year old to wear to school during Eric Carle week!</div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Here she is on our little garden. She was worried that the bees would get her! Silly girl!</div><br />

I really don't have money to go out and buy a bunch of junk that will probably end up in the trash, or end up broken. I got to thinking about the crayon roll up I made for Sara Beth when she was younger and thought I could make something similar. What I really wanted to make were crayon totes. A small bag that could hold a coloring book and a place for all the crayons on the outside. I searched the internet for some ideas and using a combination of many instructions I found I finally settled on an idea. I decided to make them 10x12, that way they would fit books and drawing pads. I made enough pockets for 12 crayons, but only included 8 with the bags.</div><div><br /></div><div>I already had most of the fabric, but had to pick up a little since I had more boys in the class and most of my fabric is princess fabric! So here they are!</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmVKKN0WMAZY7E8dxkxGp7_Rn6QrI__69_yQRJSby0mt5mFTfWCUyvQi2pyQMiIVAe9PpDiRrrY7dy2sKYyvYmOsZC3PWHriKmb62I7COMOvHMhMJozecyX4jd4kl4M1EkbTNBr68DH68/s320/DSCF0007.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633753513402233138" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 150px; " /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUC3mPRx7FpQNBZ1CuDrDLvVpIPdURuqmfge61rYJ4bNYOLfnVPmZ1CfG1qxm9E8fxWNyplPU7bcn9kkVPdWnRR9jG1xCluEJjrsN_C-bPLy4c84YajGP7PkaskocLB0T-WZys6SSNtLA/s320/DSCF0004.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633753506224183042" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 168px; " /></span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; ">This is came out a little bigger because the front side is pillow fabric.</span></span></div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDHFXGSENgJK0_dorqf8QNyqAPt2UoTN4q_VmwdHDqvdIPwIe0uAcYwFw5zMwWESaxqYsx1h3wO19KqBSv10n7gONTXUFC_UmGrdtOaNjJHkd1GASMZqm0uyzDYi5MS1VxVG_xVywh_Gg/s320/DSCF0005.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633753518516385650" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 279px; height: 320px; " /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjepv4c2Yxv86cNggEIYAlgrWq2kqq8NiN6PVxYMFR3BkRg7vjM2wp5JlXYSeq7eqV-GYwAV9Sa_AdlP5zNPJeGhGmsNQeTNglDVQKomzg0Yrd_WSFksrNn7wl2Ziv6WLE7rTD38PFDXoM/s320/DSCF0006.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633753995522435378" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px; " /></span></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><br /></span></span></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-40372089929587109492011-07-25T06:19:00.000-07:002011-07-25T06:47:59.663-07:00Disney Outfits 2011<div style="text-align: center;">Our Disney trip this year was at a different time. We usually go to the World in September or October. However, we had been to DisneyLand in April, so Sept of 2010, was not enough time between trips. A great deal for Free Dining showed up and we decided that we would try winter in Disney. Winter in Florida is unpredictable. You could have 80 degree days or 30 degrees day. DH and I honeymooned in Disney in December and two days were nice and 2 days were freezing!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">So, I planned outfits for Sara Beth that could be worn with or without shirts underneath. I also had jeans, leggins or tights for each outfit. This first outfit is a Bambi outfit. I loved this material, it was designed off of Thomas Kinkades paintings. I made a Simply Sweet top using CarlaC's pattern. I appliqued one leg of her jeans with a mickey head made of the bambi material. The top to wear underneath was a portrait peasant top.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUAxwo0zNnH3hbTlcpZsvhKSOLmOkTp0RKiQLWbbthodQ69xSD7Gkb0B8cyxhgwAK2_bsx3xf8u6tI0uf2v01RFaJDaADcPa6_zowF-rytAEmjuXndTLFUgaxCd_rF_Fc3YdDdq_7FzBs/s1600/BAMBI+TOP.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUAxwo0zNnH3hbTlcpZsvhKSOLmOkTp0RKiQLWbbthodQ69xSD7Gkb0B8cyxhgwAK2_bsx3xf8u6tI0uf2v01RFaJDaADcPa6_zowF-rytAEmjuXndTLFUgaxCd_rF_Fc3YdDdq_7FzBs/s320/BAMBI+TOP.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633279477757404450" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiTLPyqmSnLH7jujrtmBDaL66EinJbKRxb6MNV6TRHYRxLgymCAe14hGI6unNSVmQlduL1xnWS5yKtPa95R041AgC8KJiWxPGadai1SISRom9-ZjSFKQmNCzZARaHkRI6FCFevr-199Sw/s1600/bambi+pants.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiTLPyqmSnLH7jujrtmBDaL66EinJbKRxb6MNV6TRHYRxLgymCAe14hGI6unNSVmQlduL1xnWS5yKtPa95R041AgC8KJiWxPGadai1SISRom9-ZjSFKQmNCzZARaHkRI6FCFevr-199Sw/s320/bambi+pants.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633279925095298802" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">This outfit was actually repurposed! I made this dress years ago. It was a long tedious process as there are over 25 squares that are embroidered with different Disney characters. The dress was getting to small, and the bodice had been made from a Disney hankie and faded pretty badly. So, I removed the old bodice and the old bias tape from the bottom and added a new bodice and bias tape to match. Voila! Now she can get a few more years out of it!</div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu1veW1TAhQp7fk_xtQ3cgkNfqYCKbbP7xPu93ntuzbVqIkr2XmEPfD2R7aowaB4jlY-fC-Pq_AVp4bsMMTrH3xvcL-qKz6wJYEXPuPeL53iRPVsnbA2bv9oMenq8zWFN9vh5lj4dDy-I/s1600/disney+frontl.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu1veW1TAhQp7fk_xtQ3cgkNfqYCKbbP7xPu93ntuzbVqIkr2XmEPfD2R7aowaB4jlY-fC-Pq_AVp4bsMMTrH3xvcL-qKz6wJYEXPuPeL53iRPVsnbA2bv9oMenq8zWFN9vh5lj4dDy-I/s320/disney+frontl.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633279919831469122" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">Can you tell I love CarlaC's patterns? I am going to try to make a schedule for myself to keep up with this year. Sort of a school year resolution!<div><br /></div><div>Here are some projects I completed last fall. I started a job as a preschool teacher assistant, and was promoted to Teacher after half a year. After moving to Oregon than back across the US to Virginia, I am finally set up in the basement and sewing!<br /><br />The first item I made is a shirt for myself. It is a commercial pattern, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Butterick</span> B5046. This is the first commercial pattern I have used in a while. I like the ones from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">youcanmakethis</span>.com and I like the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">Studio</span> Tantrum patterns. I remembered why I don't like <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Butterick</span>! It had many directions that were incorrect or confusing. I became friends with my seem ripper again! But, once I read and reread and watched a great video on <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">slip stitching</span> I got it done. I really like it and now that I worked out all the kinks, I may make a dress version!<br /><div> <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504305953068712354" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwMU2hQY7IY8xClXdcdN3Q677pQ_25ZNAWAGEr8KrEkqYZD83oRbgk0708I7OOtnvNX3r6GT6KDk4TUS7AaOi8POmLCYsQ2Yz3BG2y7Pb48WbYVv6ISw0BcOEwkz4rM9uYa6MqC3mojIs/s320/2010_0704july20100014.JPG" /></div><div>The next think I whipped up was a pair of shorts. I did use the same <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">butterick</span> pattern only because I looked through it and saw it was your basic pant pattern. 4 pieces sewn together! I have been hoarding this pretty material from Hobby Lobby and finally used most of it up. The shorts are comfy. <br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504306274185470850" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLPJaucf_GaOomcHoPhsn6tTF15BoNXd1mCny1Aon5nowdXQPtbZ4ScMBsvjdlmioaQJNzLJB9r5IHWQonqFwJA30jq_pGTgVw55w2houa7mwK6eBlE8JGwXGdPPAlQx3tQYjvKkpgrRE/s320/2010_0704july20100016.JPG" /><br />Sara Beth was next. I moved back to my favorite patterns! This is the Precious Dress by <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">CarlaC</span> that can be found on <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">youcanmakethis</span>.com. I used a really cute eyelet material that came from Hobby Lobby. Sara Beth has had 2 other items made from this material. Mom bought the bolt and she gave it to me! I love mom! And I love this material. Sara Beth likes puffy sleeves, so we did puffy sleeves, collar and ties. This will probably be the last time I can use this size. One great think about <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">CarlaC's</span> patterns is that they come in many sizes and you print off the size you need when you need it!<br /><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504305940105963042" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJwdhLbG_-PJFMtdN08jS_OELbDijp9KKDOWdnmDG5yKZ7qKesdk20avZr35IB_54iKjuyJHyhWgADuo8UIl8ukHFsy2u1oz0N7ldG75vpNvZCEbphzQ15SUSWUoOKzLhjJi6LcI9GnSs/s320/eyelet+dress+2.JPG" />Now, Sara Beth can't have a pretty dress without Kirsten having a matching one! Since we were leaving to North Carolina to visit family and friends that afternoon I had to whip up Kirsten's dress quickly. I <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">fore go</span> the sleeves, collar and ties so I could make it quickly. It only took about an hour from cut to finish. That is <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">including</span> time I tore apart my sewing area to find hook and loop tape! But, voila! Sara Beth and Kirsten have matching dresses. Sara Beth has <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_11" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">commissioned</span> me to make another doll dress for her <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_12" class="blsp-spelling-error">itty</span> bitty twin!<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5504305947086018114" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvWhWlxc3Ol5l3DvAmWh9nW0KVYbUsmbkJdanygJd7ubjPcxKGLs_SGQgeZqA9NJYHdMsmCqsmormlbHfIr_l_3tGveYhLG0zwSUkENOr-fxDMm1mkahbZPRUhM839pIlzxlIQ9i9zy30/s320/2010_0718doll0001.JPG" /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-33160429353908732462010-06-02T18:29:00.001-07:002010-06-02T18:46:08.339-07:00Trip to California!<div><div><div>I haven't posted many outfits lately! Too many things going on. I did want to share some photos of things I made for a trip to California! While living in Oregon for 2 months, we went on a tour of of the west coast. We visited Sacramento, San Diego, La <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jolla</span>, <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Ahaheim</span> (Disney, of course), San Francisco and the Redwood forest! What a trip! Since most of our stuff was still in storage I didn't get to make too many outfits, but I was able to get a few done!<br /><div><div></div><div><br /> </div><div>First, is a Vida for the San Diego Zoo! I used some leftover material from a blanket my mom had made and some safari material found at <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Walmart</span>. It came out so cute!</div><div> </div></div><div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478357343783048178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8blWgf32Kvy-DL39SDyYv8XOkyMqQES79S5BY0qGoamYBhc46x4K8tP7fiaRYniPO3cuYQIrU5FEf9T8DYq0QTOyUI6AVC_Xljz4oG0jfxscD0VUTt4_YRldmp4DuV2eac6DpylLToyY/s320/zoo+dress.JPG" /></div><div><div><br /></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478357319811658322" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQwvIqsVQe3PqtI2iK0edLDhJTAYzr-PZh_mZ8kIOU0HFkRSda7zVWCJ_ysYlYctPIJROrpIi-NkuK8udFgGGK_ySxkQIHKriTwXIh6TkflLnRzQR5Ocf64Rey3RSsyENm32ZTdmzTxqE/s320/zoo+dress2.JPG" /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div>The only other outfits I made were 2 pant sets. First is her Alice in Wonderland dress. I used the Precious dress from CarlaC for the dress itself and I made my own pattern for the apron. The bow is from CarlaC too...a freebie on Youcanmakethis.com. She will wear this for the 1900 Park Fare Breakfast.</div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368737761481235506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1I4xpBkTlEeYriN-gdeJV6BmoeXlaXdprdnP73Pjv3rkcpXUX085hT7vRkca_q_vDOuyB6oeFzmmpK7u0W2IL-2QUewzpSw7M8Nyc9EMw9yHWknBilQJmK9OJ3b4XCXacfg_4BpA0lYc/s320/alice1.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368737763398512946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWSo9mQZcF-lhfnPIcFs9VLTt-BXXioKj-0o3xxW6z3j9BFmRoq5hygRVR-xugsSRN-_NJa52jBUlXrEihKVC8y8SmhxFAnZXXHZ0dj31W7pqNTuJk-FRXKbcQzuj41aYoy21taPLuo6I/s320/alice2.JPG" border="0" />The princess vida was a test run as it was the first time I used this pattern. A fellow disser made a tutorial that I followed and made this one of the easiest dress patterns I have ever used! Of course, it came out so cute I felt it could be used as a Disney Dress. The other day Sara Beth informs me that 5 year olds are too old for princesses. WHAT! She is only 5. Maybe it is because the next Vida I made was a Hanna Montana dress and she is in love with her! So here are her new Vidas!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368739609180241362" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVPoNzdpTvv9adhoQE2DBrtZ1UuKTfaPrXwVWatqXK1dM3wCy6d-mn9sVxTZEsjPfV05AIooyoqre_a-EUgTFRHE39GDfQ0Yks5qt9Yh05gKILEHE-Vu8OOqdbQQNDW71fW8RqBAJ0Evk/s320/princessvida1.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368739610702129698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpRxbLfgfRb-aMggaq9siDy4M8DZF2NaOzas_yAwH2TA6agzNhx6bmF3qxCk3jzNI8dP1NpLpX05F-hiDqnX04OmbWdTETyhsvHFRvEDLDuzgUx0rUZGuFvqO83Gb-wEImsQogB8pG_xg/s320/princessvida3.JPG" border="0" /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368738978104771298" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhJOovReopcFP1K59p-X0xWghwVFaQvQ0mUiCZgSpf4W5hPEJW6CGezjuOQa_xW8WmjcjiUBIIDxv30BkjaFXYyfiBVUOKgw1Sp_W7iH7yhVYgjjNqvB8x5vGAOIQJlPFt4j10VGHWPYU/s320/hanna+vida1.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368738973946475202" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9g33rhS1dNcMVVR8ZynAkYgfJxBiaTo2c5KdRa-VBIl7C-bAB51_TyyV-GRY7WDaS9lXSRD-mBjMP8d6WFcNr-5MY1T-Cj2Wx8rxpfBfghX0dJ2nzCudadBkX1-lRn7C6x971N0Gcfdw/s320/hannavida4.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-6290999092828794342009-08-04T14:18:00.000-07:002009-08-04T14:25:32.472-07:00Long Time Gone<div><div>I have been so busy, I haven't had much time to post anything. I have completed a skort, a pair of shorts, an outfit and 2 dresses! Now to get them photographed and posted! I have one photographed already. this dress was from a Simplicity pattern. The material is from Joanns. I love the material because it was sparkly. In fact, I just ordered more of the stripe material for a dress I am working on!</div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366222740067903058" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdWZKsaFIHMIBwbLOZU_e-8Z46ipuaozyca_-5jNQtyx_svbGcFtm-pjilLmnGD3XCvJ410yA6B2enNmbkxNNC432ciPLf6RZtxCAQQgvouqETYfjBxRKJrAr-wtAy8bhk6aaTSPelReQ/s320/butterflydress2.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5366222748840198498" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRlArPuBF68P0wUkY-RxT0MQYJ6mTusigc57QS0pefZKo21BKW7d8XyT40Tbx_EyPq1g3K0AjCQlfAdLKD1Hpib6Vo3FfVRL5m9Uh0LCI1lpxxLUOYboSR8wiikuELAp4v2-lMBHmJOXY/s320/butterflydress3.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div></div></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-81464574447536056412009-03-14T11:39:00.000-07:002009-03-14T11:43:10.932-07:00Colonial Willamsburg DressI was hoping to get a good picture of Sara Beth in this dress, but we were so busy! I finished the whole dress only days before we left...you know I hate zippers! But, alas, it got done and she looked adorable in it. I didn't get the hat done so we bought one in one of the little stores there! <div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313115473475024946" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 201px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI2I0AHo5OBvYxJvauRCjl9kff9zVp1yXepVgQW2mHPOtyAw5UNXDIrkst52pUvewa5sy7ZVAIVS4oLKlRtF-nV4JZrALUiHapLo9qa8we1TRDFE1643pI0QcUKUu42oNLyPir8vMrXEY/s320/front+view+williams.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313115735733884786" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEAJ3b-pdafvMfyoghfqMRjLbCKuADVLaLgYhByMs3mT3Z1lLGQDcwcaJFk7_nRAiF5Z3jyIuwOMUGLq5JpT_SnSXSyGCjih4IkU5JPhv8LQ4eP-c7d0b3oMM5R-fruZiDENWRilb5YpI/s320/sideview+william+dress.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div></div></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-4944914789384764212009-02-03T15:36:00.001-08:002009-02-03T15:46:10.708-08:00Hannah Montana Is Shipped out!<div>Today I got to finish my Big Give outfit. I really liked the way this outfit came out, and so does Sara Beth...she wants one for herself! I serged most of the outfit...just not the pants. The top was CarlaC's Stripwork Jumper and the pants were her Easy Fit Pants. Both patterns can be purchased at <a href="http://www.youcanmakethis.com/">http://www.youcanmakethis.com/</a> Her patterns are wonderful! I made the pants in an hour!</div><br /><div></div><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298720002494246674" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 241px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNj6h6iznFXTUC1ap_XSQ8Rw2vmdY6D_HHuxqJeWERjxRvTyPUIPE24gCMSciSc5VcKN5TxI3FvPTCri0qlLmtPiPEMOtTRzN61FVIDVJ5E7aGdmGTM3r3ZRA7ipdEmsnjNoA2HhF9rG8/s320/mya's+gift.JPG" border="0" />I did my first semi applique. Really, it was just a square, but I did it! I think I may actually try a picture one day! HeatherSue wrote an awesome tutorial that I will be using....you can find it here: <a href="http://drop.io/sxgazi4/asset/applique-tutorial-by-heather-sue">http://drop.io/sxgazi4/asset/applique-tutorial-by-heather-sue</a></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298721515698682786" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm_ItsGYmsJp_Ak9S260PF4iYyv0FIA9DwpmiaQ5D50CGNlxrzvEOqgQn7G8oKVrUc_sbP0jsGMoDnjWyui_a0YLsFa_MmMAsx08PHihIstd72cwXHOu74U76bxyUiK0is8JgqaMWe5EU/s320/DSCF0754.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p></p><p>I have also made some money on ebay selling some scrapbook stuff so I now have some money to buy material. Hopefully, this week I can get down to Mary Jo's and get some great fabric!<br /></p><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-23757965358461748612009-01-30T17:55:00.000-08:002009-01-30T18:01:30.202-08:00Dress almost Done!So, I worked a lot yesterday and getting some sewing done. I am about 8o% done with the Colonial dress. I still need to add some lace to the hem on the skirt and do the zipper...I hate zippers! But, it is really looking cute!<br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5297271104907880562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 234px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWcu1_QcFRFKZbD_6GzLsT9rCFLGshQ90EL3g_OrKwTmJu1HirCUSJVrlUC0Imi3KKZB6Uk0Apr036PVJygsWZ-ROJfAMEwTgyL7eyvF-xMHIhgoFVwdVgwjmfruD48ncc7OLJ1e9YoxY/s320/DSCF0745.JPG" border="0" />I have finally started on the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Feliz</span>, but only got the sashes sewn...they are even sewn into the dress yet. I was going to start the facing and really want to serge it, so it will have to wait!</p><p>My Big Give outfit is coming along. The strips on the skirt are <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">serged</span> and I have started the bodice. I plan to get the bodice done tomorrow along with <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">attaching</span> the skirt to the bodice, then I need to go to moms to serge it done! Then on to the pants for the outfit! Only 7 more days to get it done.</p><p>AND THE BEST NEWS IS....I am getting a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">serger</span> for my birthday! YES! The brother 1034D! I am super excited and am looking forward to doing lots of sewing!</p><p>Finally, I have listed some toys and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">scrapbooking</span> supplies on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">ebay</span> to fund my fabric addiction. Really, I need fabric to make the girls summer clothing! Right?<br /></p>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-56109084559190607642009-01-27T17:41:00.000-08:002009-01-27T17:51:53.679-08:003 projects at once...should I add another?<div><br /><br /><div>I am now working on three different outfits! I have a Hannah Montana stripwork top in the works for the big give. I am about halfway done with the top. Once done, I will make some pants to go with it. The girl I am making this for doesn't like ruffles..thank goodness...so the top should be done quickly. this is what it looks like so far. It is really just a bunch of strips sewn together that will look like a top soon enough.<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296154763658834210" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 144px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUEFh729kcnuCjKue-K7Qsf9Lwa83JpPLEjbFdYz0CIO2Y-oRsen6lE5o9uaJKstlgQ6Wd0jkJjOI20p730FAJ_UD5984Q6xSXMqCwacC2j9WPobRsrlDU0_LOgKS0EpnOftyB5vBi70Q/s320/DSCF0737.JPG" border="0" /></div></div><p></p><p>Another project I am working on is a dress for Sara Beth for our trip to Colonial Williamsburg. I thought it would be cute for her to be dresses in the time period. I heard you can rent an outfit there...but why do that when I can make one. So I have the bodice done...<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5296155668663766962" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 226px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2vcatAbPoE2JTXP8dnIYC801v_r56jmNhD71xzsnC_Unfgq5XqZou2A3A_c3_kR23WEzA76lj-io_4BkAz2UqlGINpL1YwkaUUm8w0Cz2TTcX-Dgf7KLnqPwRP0aZcyrY3RWGmTJKm90/s320/DSCF0735.JPG" border="0" /></p><br /><p>The last project is a Feliz dress. I have it all cut out and it is just waiting for me to sew it together. I found a great sew along at Trillium that I plan to use. All my projects are on a stand still because I need to serge some seams and I need moms house for that! </p><p>I want to start a cute stripwork jumper for Sara Beth but I am not sure I should start yet another project until one is done! And on top of all this, I may be getting a serger for my birthday! Yah me!</p>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-850350994964275381.post-61678608734305020302009-01-22T13:58:00.000-08:002009-01-22T14:11:35.551-08:00Starting Out<div><br /><br /><div>I thought I would start a blog showcasing all my sewing acheivements. Eventually, I would like to start my own boutique line of clothing....one day! Sara Ashley is a combination of both of my daughter's first names. </div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div>I started sewing when we decided to take our first trip to Disney as a family in 2005. Mostly, I choose material and cut it and my mom did the sewing. Here is the Cindy dress she made.</div><br /><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294242589062873794" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW1ESV4mwFbHyHGVguClqcePqd2SQuDSr4xCYgMxlqjucndOHFGtmQlsnMQC9cdtDLviw1kfQ3SYvWYqXY9PPsROeJE5clCuTxT7YEQqPoVlNbAC0yUnh5SrKR8noiAzk8hYBbCq39Zqw/s320/2006_0916Image0017.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div>Our next trip in 2006, I decided we needed more outfits for Disney. This time I cut material and helped sew some of the outfits. By our 4th trip in 2008 I made all of Sara Beth's outfits and a few for Ashley, too! I now make most of my younger daughters outfits instead of buying them. I really enjoy sewing and hope to keep improving! </div><div> </div><div>Here is one I made for the last trip. It is a patchwork twirl jumper. Mom did the embroidery on her machine and I did lots and lots of cutting and sewing. Sara Beth loves this dress!</div><div> </div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294243543978002482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKVHv3GPksrlXlYNI50kqDf7xRksQu43DPgPtZ1jHUOnAdmIsGRuWiBMnDC5FfXxlrCVU3uVajiP7BjyRfz4Xcn5gL6mpsq4OfiQvln90kg_2-uR-VRwhFUapjzXoMaZyUtqBbR7oy9mo/s320/2008_0922cameranew0030.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div></div><br /><div></div></div>Mom of 2 princesseshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06710545207048757909noreply@blogger.com3
